Welcome to Glenelg Opal  for 2010.

We wish to thank everyone  that spent time browsing and buying from Glenelg Opal  last year.

We hope that you purchase will bring you back again. Opals tend to get into your blood . One opal is never enough.

The past year was interesting..

We had one mail  item lost.. returned to the shop 2mths later. We sent  a replacement via express post  with our appology.

Two delayed posted items  arriving a week after they should have, fortunately the postal service is usually very reliable.

Then an attempted scam..

Buyer claiming  item recieved wasnt what was paid for and wanting a refund. Photo sent  of recieved item wasn't

our stock at all. Verified by our jeweler and the owner.

Postal service contacted and their reply was...  Item delivered within proper time frame also registered and signed for. If package had been interfered with agent at recievers end would have noticed and so would reciever before it was signed for. With thousands of parcels delivered at that time of the year would be more than a coincidence someone would pick that paticular package have any idea what was in it and have similar item there on hand to swap and reseal package without any damage.

Consumer Affairs told me its happened before and will happen again, just have to be vigal.

Also  all items sent are verified by two assistants at this end who see the correct item is placed in container to be sent that day.

Good  try but the only time the order was able to be swapped was after it was delivered and signed for.

My only recourse was to ask the reciever to contact their postal service and file a complaint.

Please note-- if  the item had been our stock  a refund or replacement would have been made without question with  a full apology also.

So  all in all an interesting year. Welcome 2010.

Regards Jan.
